Medium- The materials used to create an artwork. (plural form-Media) 2 Dimensional Art - Art existing on a flat surface with only length and height but no depth in space. 3 Dimensional Art –Art that has length, height and width. Mixed Media: Combined use of several different techniques-such as drawing, painting, printmaking-in a single work of art.
Pastels - Pigment mixed with an oil or chalk binder in stick form. Colored Pencils - sticks of pigment using a waxy binder encased in wood Charcoal: Charred vine or wood used in sticks as a soft drawing medium. Collage: A two-dimensional technique in which materials are glued together to a flat surface.
Paint - is pigment mixed with binder usually applied with a brush Watercolors - Paint that has a water soluble binder Oil - Paint that has a linseed oil binder Acrylic - Has a binder of clear plastic Tempera – Has a binder of egg yolk
