Algebra II Honors—Day 3
Goals for Today Check Homework – Turn in Parent Contact Info with signatures (if not done already) – In-class warmup (pick up at front of room) – Show me your homework and get a homework stamp – Go over questions Essential Questions – New material and continue review of properties Homework Assignment—Handout
Essential Questions How do I determine the accuracy of my answers? How do I calibrate my axes on a coordinate plane within the context of the data? How do I graph a linear equation?
Properties of Equality Reflexive Symmetric Transitive Substitution
Accuracy of Answers Units of measurement – A geometric example Rounding off – A banking example Exact answers vs. approximations – Irrational or decimal approximations?
Coordinate Plane Axes Origin Quadrants Domain Range
Graphing Linear Equations Decide on the appropriate labels for your axes and an appropriate scale. What two things are being compared? Use a table or a formula to draw your graph. Determine the formula from the graph.
Homework Handout—Unit 1 Lessons 1 and 2 – Problems 1 and 2 deal with units of measurement and determining which are most accurate. – Problem 3 is about rounding off to estimate answers. – Problem 4 is a long two-part problem asking you to determine two linear equations and analyze each of them.
