2 Project Overview Awarded Pathfinder Status for PFI/ICT Initiative – 2003 Contract Signed March 2004 Scope –All pupils from Year 5 to Year 11 in 180 Schools –1,500 Teachers –Focus English, Mathematics, Science, Geography, History, ICT, Modern Foreign Languages.

The legacy for the future will be improved standards of achievement, a collaborative and skilled work force of teachers and support staff, an outstanding pool of resources, skills and knowledge and an appetite for learning.”

11 Key lessons learnt Communication Effective and frequent consultation with stakeholders will lead to a better understanding of what you are trying to achieve. Engaging with the stakeholder to enable them to have ownership of the shared vision Change management How will teachers and pupils become competent and confident users of any ‘new’ technologies ? Don’t under estimate the challenge of culture change within a school
