5. From the University’s Perspective Very little tuition money is used for the commuter lot No revenue is produced through the commuter lot Money is needed to maintain Cyride’s Orange Route – Cyride is rated number 1 in small transit bus systems

From the Students Perspective Paying commuter lot parking is contrary to what the parking division stands for It is counter productive to commuter’s purpose of commuting – Average debt of graduating senior is $27,000 Limited space for students that don’t want to pay for parking Attempting to force commuting students to pay for parking creates more problems than it creates

7. Mediation Have students pay a minimal fee of $25 per semester – This would generate $300,000 dollars annually for mantainence In addition, raise prices on parking tickets on campus This may not make students happy, but we have a responsibility to the Ames community in which we live
