All the standards apply but specifically… Systems are in place so staff can easily identify someone with dementia who may need extra support Access for advice/assessment to liaison service specialising in diagnosis and management of dementia Systems in place to request,record and share key information about the person Guidelines on the management of delirium are available…

7. What do the standards say about general hospitals? Systems are in place to monitor the number of moves people with dementia are subject to….. Regular audit of the physical environment and appropriate action taken Discharge planning arrangements will consider a range of care and support options. Robust procedures are in place to review decisions taken to transfer someone with dementia who previously lived at home to a care home.
