24. Notes - Newtown There is a By-Pass proposed which has been on the cards since 1970. Since the Tesco was built, a few years ago, the traffic is extremely congested and slow moving. The By-Pass has been listed as a priority now by the Welsh Assembly. They are hoping to get construction underway in 2014. I have looked at the detailed traffic movement predictions produced by the Welsh Assembly and they are available if anyone chooses to see them. In my view, this By-Pass will only help our Drive-Thru as it can take up to 1 hour just to get through the town during peak times.
