1. Preschooler's Day Fun …how preschools from Lodz celebrated 20th September Education Joy

2. The directors of Lodz’s preschools were the ones who initiated the idea. 20th of September 2010 was a very special day for the preschoolers. It was the first time when we organized Preschooler’s Day in Lodz. The most important goals of the project are: Popularization of the modern preschool education. Providing the opportunity to celebrate, have great fun and rejoicing at being a preschooler. Integration of preschools from different regions of Poland. Integration and co-operation of many environments, people and institutions which have an effect on the image and quality of preschools. Promotion of preschools supported by Lodz City.

3. The main celebrations took place in the park which was opened that day and passed under the patronage of the preschoolers. The preschoolers and Lodz City Council representatives together planted an oak which commemorates the place and time of the event.

4. Preschooler's Day The ones who celebrated were children, adults, Lodz City Council representatives, Lodz Education Office, Education Commission, teachers, parents, sponsors – in essence – everybody who cares about the education of young children.

5. There were a real stage, performances by the preschoolers, a magic show, comedians on stilts, common dances and fun with music...

7. Together with the balloons dreams flew up … Dreams about the colourful, happy and safe world … Not only in Lodz but also in Poland and even all over the world … Dreams about Preschooler's Day celebrated …

9. The festivities began with the parade of preschoolers – the representatives of all municipal preschools – along the representative street. And then … the fun began.

10. On the stage the preschoolers danced; the Spanish pasodoble, the French minuet and the Polish krakowiak, and around the stage free dances ruled …

11. Everybody was seized with common joy… Preschooler`s Day was celebrated in the streets, at the squares, in the parks and the preschools … Colourful balloons flew up into the sky, there were games, competitions, sweet treats. All the children were given souvenirs.

12. The main celebrations will take place in Manufaktura. On 20 th September 2012 we will invite preschoolers from other Polish cities to join the fun in Lodz. The Nationwide Preschool Education Day will be the holiday of all the preschoolers. Manufaktura – a factory complex built in the 19 th century. Today it is the biggest shopping & entertainment centre in Poland.

13. We hope that the Lodz project will be an inspiration for everybody who likes the idea; also for the ones who – for a long time – have been organizing such a holiday on other days, in a different way and under different names.
