8 Pine Hills NID Task Force Recommendations Implementing Organization
Town Center Master Plan Corridor Development Effective Connections Strong Neighborhoods The Task Force has been working to build a strategic plan. We are still in progress, but as it stands right now, there are five components to the strategic plan. The first component is a discussion about the need for strong neighborhoods. Although our goal is to concentrate on the commercial areas, the residential component of Pine Hills is very significant to its survival and we did not want the component to be overlooked. The second component centers around creating effective connections internally and externally for Pine Hills residents to be able to move about the area having access to shopping and employment. The third component is perhaps where we have most of our emphasis is on corridor development. We will explore specific strategies to improve the commercial corridors in Pine Hills. Fourth, as a continuation of our 2004 strategic plan, we will lay out a master plan for a town center, a gathering place for Pine Hills families. And finally, the Task Force will be recommending to the Board that a formal organization be established to implement redevelopment in Pine Hills.
