As most of you know, the Standards-Based Management System (EMERS) translates laws, orders, and regulatory requirements into Laboratory-wide subject area procedures that are current, accurate, concise, and relevant to the work being performed by staff. EMERSinformation is based on an evaluation of external requirements (i.e., DOE Directives, Federal, state and local laws), corporate policies, and best management practices that have been determined applicable to ORNL operations and processes. EMERSprovides the framework for the ORNL Environmental Management System (EMS) and a systematic approach to integrating environmental considerations into every part of ORNL’s work.
