5. Standard Input Device o The keyboard is the most common and widely used input device. o It is also a standard input device. o Made up of buttons called 'keys‘ with four (4) main sections: 1. Alphanumeric keys 2. Function or F keys {F1, F2, F3, etc} 3. Numeric keypad {on the right} 4. Arrow or cursor movement keys

6. Standard Input Device Most keyboards are called 'QWERTY' keyboards. From the first 6 letters on the top row of the alphabet keys. Using a keyboard for too long can lead to health problems such as Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). To overcome this, ergonomic keyboards were invented.
