Gothic style Between the 2nd half of the 12th and the beginning of the 16th centuries All states in Europe Known from Gothic art, painting, sculptures, gravestones, books Sewing of clothes started
Cotte – a long shirt with long sleeves with a line or belt in waist, usually light colours Cotte for men was loose with shaped or tight sleeves.
Surcot – outer garment worn on cotte.
Veils, hats, hairstyles Unmarried girls – long hair, decorated by flowers Married women wore veils, caps and scarves Henin hats very fashionable in the 14th century A big hat in the shape of cone with a veil. Men wore knitted or fur caps, hats and hoods.
Shoes Shoes were usually without heels, pointed. The rich wore more pointed shoes than the poor.
