Marcus and Blank wanted their store to sell everything a person might need for a project. Operating on a large scale allows prices to be low. Store employees are trained experts in home improvement. Arthur Blank owns 90% of the Atlanta Falcons. Bernie Marcus donated $250 million to start the Georgia Aquarium.

8. Georgia- Pacific Owen R. Cheatham- Atlanta Georgia-Pacific is one of the worlds top producers of tissue, pulp, paper, packaging, and building goods. Owen R. Cheatham started the company in 1927 as a small lumber mill. He took the risk to expand his mill into a larger business. By 1938, the company was running 5 lumberyards in the South. In 1947, the company bought a lumber mill on the Pacific Coast. The company is still very successful.
