Overcoming economic bottlenecks along the forestry wood chain, providing efficient mobilization of forest raw material. Mapping forest resources with respect to quantity, dimensions, quality and specific properties using field measurements, geographic information systems and novel remote sensing techniques. Technologies to Boost Heat and Power Life cycle assessment of the environmental costs and benefits of the utilization of forest residues and biomass from coppices for heat and electricity production at the local and regional level. Development and demonstration of small-scale biomass-fired power plants based on novel electricity generating techniques.
