3 Bargaining Timeline Beginning Spring 2009-
BOE unilaterally makes major medical SEHBP LEA views this as a substantial change to the terms and conditions of Contract 2007 – 2010 LEA demands to bargain and BOE agrees Memorandum of Agreement signed November 9, 2009 Salary Increase and a few language changes All other terms and conditions remain stable

Language Changes Custodian/Maintenance Only NEW Language The Board shall process and make payment for overtime on a bi-monthly basis, so long as timesheets are submitted properly.

All Faculty, Staff, and Support Professionals Article XXVI, Para. A (TSP) & XXI, Sec. A 1 (CM) Insurance Protection Language Revised The Board shall provide, at its expense for all employees who are employed under this contract Major Medical insurance provided by an insurance policy that is equal to or better than the New Jersey School Employees Health Benefits Program in effect as of July 1, (hereinafter SEHBP)

Article XXVI, Para. F (TSP) & XXI A. 1 a. (CM) shall be revised so that members will NOT contribute to health insurance premiums in SEHBP unless the Board reverts to a private plan containing a “traditional” coverage component the same as in existence on June 30, In that event, the contribution will remain at $ annually.

7 Language Changes Continued
New Language Added Voluntary Opt-out Payment Effective July 1, 2009, the parties shall implement a payment for 40% of the Board’s annual cost to those employees who waive coverage. The payment shall be made annually on the June 30th following the last open enrollment period. Reenrollment is permissible during open enrollment and if alternate health insurance is lost- Proof is necessary, needs to be within 60 days of event, and proration of payment will apply.

10 Language Changes Continued
BOE shall adopt an IRC section 125 plan for the purpose of implementing the opt-out payment so that members receiving employer paid benefits shall have NO tax consequences.

Prescription Fund for 2009/2010 school year- $45,000 total to be distributed on a “first come-first served” basis for all members of LEA. Documentation and prior reimbursement eligibility rules (such as deductibles) shall apply. Forms mutually developed and submitted to BA

12 Salary Increase All guides shall reflect a 4% across the board increase at each step. Applies to all Guides: Exhibits A – O: All Faculty, Certificated Staff, Support Staff (10-month or 12- month), Coaching, and Extra-curricular. Head Athletic Trainer Custodial/Maintenance Exhibit A (including Reporting Custodian Stipends) Employees shall remain at the same step from 2009/2010 to 2010/2011.

14 Voting Procedures Please vote in your building on Friday, December 11, 2009 before 3:00 PM so that your rep. can meet the 4:00 PM deadline to return ballots. Traveling teachers please vote in your Friday Morning location.
