This is the scarf that is stuck in the zipper that goes under the jacket I wear in the snow.
These are the mittens that go with the scarf I wear in the snow.
These are the socks that are wrinkled and bunched in the boots I wear in the snow.
This is the sled I rode in the snow. It crashed and I fell.
These are the tears that fell from my eyes that dripped on the scarf when I fell in the snow.
Oh, no! Oh, no
This is my mother who wiped my tears that fell from my eyes.

Activities 1.Students put on actual clothing items as the story is told. 2.Students create an illustration of what I wear in the snow. 3.Students retell the story with a stick puppet and felt clothing. Students dress the puppet with the felt clothing as the story is told. The puppet and clothing can be created from models at 4.Create vocabulary cards for retelling the story. The picture/word vocabulary cards can be printed from Students sequence the story with the picture/word vocabulary cards. 5.Print out key words on one inch blocks from the website Have students place the tiles over the letters to spell the words from the story. Key words: jacket, zipper, scarf, mittens, tears, mother.
Activities 6. Match colored clothing items from the story to shadow pages inside a file folder. Print out the shadow pages and paste on the inside of a file folder. Have students cut out the colored clothes and place the clothing items on the matching shadow. Download the shadow pages and clothing items from 7. Match real picture to symbol of the same item i- we.html 8. Play winter lotto. Lotto boards can be downloaded at click on Materials Exchange; then click on Thematic Units; then click Winter Themes.
