5 KS3 Assessment in Art Activity-Keys (APP task) Peer Assessment-Keys
Brief explanation of methods & recording Handouts

6 Assessing Pupil Progress
Yr 9 Key Study You are being assessed on your ability to produce an accurate drawing of a Key, or 2 or more overlapping Keys using tone, texture and detail and a balanced composition. 1. Draw your chosen Key in pencil, lightly, taking care with composition (picture space) and proportion 2. Create accurate tones, showing shadows and translating colours into mid-tones 3. Apply clear detail, including careful rendering of details, paying special attention to the reflective surfaces and any areas of pattern LEVELS To get a level 4 You need to draw accurately using line, composition and shape and create tones close to the original To get a level 5 You need to draw accurately using line, composition and shape and create correct mid-tones, using skill with the pencil to form clear lines, show 3D form using graduated tonal-changes. To get a level 6 You need to draw accurately using line, composition and shape and create correct mid-tones, showing skill with the pencil and an ability to create sharp lines and show 3D form using graduated tonal, where possible add accurate detail. To get a level 7 You need to draw accurately using line and create a range of correct mid-tones, showing skill with the pencil and an ability to create sharp lines and, where possible, accurate texture to create a detailed and intricate study based on ‘Keys’.. Achieved level: Example : APP Sheet

8 Assessment-as meaningful feedback..and target setting
Our on-going Assessment Model is /TGT +/TGT is integral to all Units of work where students produce significant pieces of work as part of their preparation, exploration, discovery & progress (development) towards a final outcome
