Moreover, cell debris, pro-inflammatory cytokines and adipokines can further enhance TNF and IL-6 secretion from Kupffer cells, leading to activation of downstream signaling molecules, such as STAT3 in hepatocytes which contribute to hepatocarcinogenesis.
