A Weather Station sends Weather Measurements to the SCE back office. Weather Analytics produces the other Weather Data Products sent to the SCE back office. Service Invoices and Service Payments are exchanged between SCE and external Weather Data Service Providers. 3

Forecasts and Real time Conditions and Advisories used to maximize workforce productivity, effectiveness, and safety. Real time situational awareness and monitoring of actual weather phenomena affecting grid operations. Historical and Real time data used to verify environmental regulatory compliance. Historical data used to assess impact on equipment life and to estimate performance degradation. Also used for maintenance planning. Customer Service All types used to empower customers to participate in managing their own energy consumption. Also used for notifications. 4

Condition – Any weather data that is determined by the evaluation of one or more measured weather data items is classified as a Weather Condition. Advisory – Any weather notification concerning adverse weather conditions that is issued by an official reporting agency is classified as a Weather Advisory. 5

Information about weather activity that occurs in the atmosphere is identified as Atmospheric Weather Data. Geospheric – The geosphere is the solid environment of the earth. Information about weather activity that occurs in the geosphere is identified as Geospheric Weather Data. Hydrospheric – The hydrosphere is the water environment of the earth. Information about weather activity that occurs in the hydrosphere is identified as Hydrospheric Weather Data. Space – The conditions on the sun and in the solar wind, magnetosphere, ionosphere, and thermosphere that can influence the performance and reliability of space-borne and ground-based technological systems and endanger human life or health is identified as Space Weather Data. 6

Current – Current weather data includes the most recent measurements, conditions, and advisories. Forecast – Forecast weather data includes the most recent predicted future weather measurements and weather conditions. Security Requirements Any weather data used for monitor and control must be obtained from secure channels. 7
