Arrival and Dismissal School hours are 8:00am to 3:10pm. Students are tardy at 8:05am. At the arrival of school, first grade students will meet in the first grade hallway and then be dismissed to their classroom. The building will open at 7:30 for breakfast. The students dropped off before 7:30 are unsupervised. If your child’s normal dismissal procedure changes (even for one day), we must have your instructions in writing. Without written notice, we cannot alter how your child goes home. Main Phone Number to School

3 Breakfast & Lunch Students may purchase breakfast and lunch on a daily basis using an assigned lunch number. Students may also bring their own lunch. Breakfast-$ Lunch-$2.20 Please talk to your child about not sharing their food during lunch time, due to other student’s food allergies. 4 Activity Fee Activity Fees are collected from every student at the beginning of the year in the amount of $35. This covers the cost of field trip admission, transportation, supplies, and other grade level activities. Parents can use a credit card to pay activity fees with our bookkeeper, they can pay online at or you can send cash payments. NO CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Payment is due by September 22.

5 Birthday Celebrations
On student birthdays, we encourage parents to purchase ice cream from our cafeteria for the student and their classmates. The students will be allowed to eat their ice cream during the lunch period. Please preorder a few days before your child’s birthday to make sure it is available. Parents will be allowed to bring store bought baked goods (cupcakes, cookies) but please be aware that we will not distribute them until the end of the day.

6 Class Dojo Class Dojo is a behavior tool that I use in my classroom. It is a website that allows me to give students immediate feedback on their behaviors, positive and negative. Parents can see this feedback on a daily basis. My hope is that this will bring us closer together, and help you better understand the progress of your student. It also allows me to communicate through messages(text) to each other. I can send group messages or reminder to all parents or individual praise and comments to parents. The best feature is that I can send you pictures of your child throughout the year.

7 Conference/Specials My conference time is 1:40pm-2:25pm Monday – Friday. During this time, I will return s, phone calls, and have conferences. My class will be split due to the fact that we have 6 teachers. This means that a few of my kids will go to specials with the 5 other teachers. Please check their green daily folder for their special schedule. I will put a label in the folder with your child’s special schedule. My phone number is and address is

8 Homework Students will have one required homework assignment each night; to read at least minutes. They will have 2 books provided by the teacher that will be a good fit for them. They can read at bedtime, in the car, or around the table before dinner. The important thing is for them to practice reading as much as possible. There will be an optional homework menu for the students to complete in their daily folder. They can pick activities to complete and turn them in for points towards awards/prizes. This is optional, but it is great practice for students to reinforce their skills. Once spelling begins, your child will bring home a spelling spiral. This is where they will choose an activity from the menu to complete. They will bring the spiral back every day. Please make sure they can spell the words by Friday.
