3 Prior Knowledge: Fact and Opinion
Remember a fact is real and true. An opinion is what we think. Trees are plants. Bears climb trees. I like bears. Knowing what an opinion is will help us write our opinion about the story. Fact Fact Opinion

Writing Situation: We have read the story, Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Think about Baby Bear and how you would describe him. Purpose: To write our opinion about a character Writing Directions: Think about the character Baby Bear in, Goldilocks and the Three Bears. How would you describe him? Draw a picture of Baby Bear that shows your opinion of something he did in the story. Then write a sentence that gives your opinion of Baby Bear. Teacher Models: Tell students ‘I liked baby bear’.
