JULY NEWSLETTER Opening Hours 08: :00 Monday to Friday CLOSED Saturday and Sunday Waiting Times Unfortunately, there will be times when the Doctor or Nurse may be running late for various reasons. If you have not been seen after 30 minutes from your appointment time, please speak to a receptionist. Your co-operation and patience is appreciated. Thinking of Going Abroad? If you’re planning on going abroad make sure to book an appointment to see the Practice Nurse 8 weeks before departure if you need vaccinations – further information can be obtained from: Malaria advice and tablets are available at your local Pharmacy. National Diabetes Audit This GP practice is taking part in an important national project about diabetes care and treatment in the NHS. The project is called the National Diabetes Audit (NDA). To take part, your GP practice will share anonymous information about your diabetes care and treatment with the NDA. The type of information and how it is shared, is controlled by law and enforced by strict rules of confidentiality and security. If you do not want your information to be used, please inform the receptionist, your GP or nurse. This will not affect your care.

Food Banks On average the Practice sends 5 bags of food each month donated by local patients and staff to the local food bank in aid of Trussell Trust Charity. In the past year the food bank fed 2343 adults and 1203 children in the Tameside area. Many thanks for your support – please keep up the good work. Willow Wood Hospice Dementia Carer Support Café Willow Wood Hospice is holding a regular café for people caring for someone with dementia. We know the experience can be difficult. You need a break, a chance to relax and share your experiences with others in a similar position. The café is held on the third Friday of each month between 2pm and 3pm. Dates in 2016 are: 17th June 15th July 19th August 16th September 21st October 18th November 16th December APPOINTMENTS We are always trying to improve our services to patients therefore as from 1st August the Practice will be introducing a new GP triage appointment system whereby if you require an urgent appointment, the Receptionist will take your details and a Doctor will call you back to assess your details and arrange an appointment at the Surgery, or your problem may be handled over the telephone Your feedback to our Patient Participation Group would be appreciated .
