FLU VACCINATION APPOINTMENTS

Have you had your Pneumococcal vaccination?
Any patient aged over 65 is eligible for this vaccine and can be given at the same time as the flu vaccination.
For most people, one vaccination offers lifelong protection against pneumococcal disease.

Shingles
This vaccination is currently being offered to anyone who is
70, 71, 72, 73, 78 or 79
About 1 in 4 people develop shingles during their lifetime, and as people get older, they are more likely to develop shingles due to changes and natural weakening of the immune system.
People aged 80 and over are not part of the national programme because the vaccine seems to be less effective in this age group.
