2 General Information Students can participate in all High School athletics if eligible; can only fail 2 classes! Portfolio presentations in May Most classes will be in the EAST wing of building

3 Extra Curricular Activities
High School Sports (must pass 4 out of 6 classes) Debate, Forensics, Science Olympiad, Quiz Bowl Clubs: Sampling Student Council Ping Pong Animee Key Club *** No National Honor Society; apply as a sophomore

4 Student Expectations Credits count toward graduation (must earn 22 credits out of a possible 24). 9th grade is the beginning of your transcript & grade point average (GPA). Each semester class is .5 credit. Credit is only granted for a D- or higher (60%). Summer school is an option to make up credit but expensive (about $100 per class) & online. Attendance and tardiness are monitored; Wednesday morning detention for 3 tardies to a class.

5 What a semester looks like:
Students will take 6 classes per semester (about 61 minutes per class) 2 semesters in a school year All 6 classes will meet on Wednesdays (10:30 start time; lunch served before school) 12 total possible classes in a year Exams at the end of each semester Approximately 18 weeks per semester Nutrition Break

English 7 semesters Math 7 semesters Science 6 semesters Social Studies 6 semesters P.E./Health 2 semesters (1 P.E. & 1 Health) Fine Arts 1 semester Online experience 1 semester Modern Language 4 semesters = 34 out of 48 semesters

9 Scheduling for next school year
Feb 10th/ Intervention Feb 11th in Math classes; Schedule request forms due back to Math teachers on Wednesday, Feb 15th. Honors application for English (portfolio & summer reading). Application Due March 3rd. Teacher recommendation and parent approval for Honors Geometry; must sign course selection sheet. Modern Language teacher initials if prepared to move on to next level (e.g. Spanish II).
