2 Census The exercise of gathering population data every five or ten years by the governments of countries. (Canada does it every five years)

3 The difference in census taking in developed versus less-developed countries
Developed Countries: Taken more frequently (5 years) and record a greater amount of information. Less-developed Countries: Taken less frequently (Maybe every 10 years) and record only a few pieces of basic information.

5 What is the Purpose of a census?
To collect information about the number of people living in a country, but also to identify the age, sex, languages spoken, nationality, occupation and possessions (etc.) of those people.

6 What is the value of a census?
Governments and businesses find the collected information useful to predict future trends. This allows them to plan more effectively for the changes.
