1 Peer Group Presentation: Statisticians

2 Peer group session for Statisticians
Objectives: To facilitate the Statisticians in preparation of EFAMDA reports; DevInfo (EFAInfo) data compilation organization of data data analysis especially in addressing issues on disparity and un-reached groups exchange and share experience

3 Schedule Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 DevInfo (Template creation)
DevInfo (Data entry and retrieval) Indicators on ECCE Measuring and analysis of disparity Day 3 DevInfo (Data Import from and export to excel files) Indicators on UBE/UPE Use of data from household survey Day 4 Indicators on Life Skills and Literacy Household survey-base literacy module and LAMP Visual presentation and analysis

4 Day1: Dev Info Entry Morning: Orientation
Objectives, expectations, etc Afternoon : DevInfo Instruction using DevInfo 5.0 Data Admin and DevInfo 5.0. a technical training to participants to introduce DevInfo. Specifically, he demonstrated how to use the Template, adding new indicators, deleting indicators, import and exporting data, adding new categories to Subgroups (Location, Sex, Age, etc), using data for mapping, etc.

5 Day 2: Measuring and analysis of disparity and ECCE
Morning: Technical instruction on Data Entry on DevInfo Data Admin how to use Data Entry on DevInfo Data Admin, specifically, selecting indicators, time, area, source, entering data to make on DevInfo Data Admin to create graphs and maps with DevInfo. Afternoon: ECCE Orientation on the core ECCE indicators, quality and gender-related indicators on ECCE, additional ECCE indicators and also some good examples of presentation of data (graphs and charts) from Global Monitoring Report. Orientation on the Excel Templates for EFAMDA

6 Day 3: UBE and Use of data from household survey and UBE/UPE
Morning Session: technical instruction on Exporting and importing data from/to DevInfo how to export data from DevInfo and import data into DevInfo. Afternoon session: Summarizing DevInfo, Use of data from household survey data, and UPE/UBE Introduction the core UBE/UPE indicators, quality and gender-related indicators on UBE/UPE, additional UBE/UPE indicators and also some good examples of presentation of data (graphs and charts) from Global Monitoring Report. Orientation on the Excel Templates for EFAMDA

7 Day 4: Visual presentation and analysis and Literacy and Life Skills
Morning: Literacy and Life Skills Introduction to the core and additional Literacy and Life Skills indicators, quality and gender-related indicators on them and also some good examples of presentation of data (graphs and charts) from Global Monitoring Report. Examples of calculating Internal Efficiency Afternoon: Explanation of the difference between Survival Rate to Grade 5 and Retention Rate. Household Survey-based Literacy Module LAMP (Literacy Assessment and Monitoring Programme) Visual presentation and analysis

8 Follow-up activities Country EFAInfo
New updates (template) on EFAInfo (Support from Regional Team) Draw a support from local partners (UNICEF, NSO) Customization of excel templates Adapt and customize templates to fit with local contexts Fill the available data Data collection and compilation Identify the sources of data relevant to EFA EMIS, censuses, surveys, studies Compile and collate the information to be included in the reports Prepare appropriate analysis

9 Issues Unavailability of data
Need to explore more on which data will be available especially data from surveys and studies Require in-depth analysis of data from surveys which required strong expertise in statistical package and data analysis Inadequate human resources to collect all information required Some cases, requires additional and new surveys and studies Requires more training and support for the preparation of EFAInfo Data analysis especially from surveys
