Rather, they are a key indicator of how willing and prepared we are to operate in an increasingly multilingual and multicultural world. We need to navigate and mediate between more than one culture on a daily base. Learning languages prepare yourself to face the challenges posed by today’s globalised world, such as differences, values, belief systems, business practices, behaviour and expectations. You can learn a new language by joining an undergraduate module as a “credit” or “non-credit” at a beginners level (A1), or at an Intermediate (A2) or Post A level (B1) level if you have studied the language before. You can also join our language evening programme for personal development and pleasure. Studying a language at UEA gives you the opportunity of meeting people from all over the world and participate in a range of activities: writing in La Taberna Spanish Magazine, acting in a French professional play, learning Asian calligraphy, discovering the Greek culture through Voices of Greece, creating an Intercultural project with Japanese exchange students,… and much more. STUDY A LANGUAGE ALONGSIDE YOUR DEGREE AND ENHANCE YOUR CAREER.
