Campaign approach  Don’t write down a personal action, but discuss what to focus on coming month  Go Out and See and Listen to issues in the office and on site.  Use “Site toolbox letters” and/or “Office meeting letters” to stimulate discussion  Reconvene and discuss issues collected and agree on the ones to resolve  Execute the actions, give feedback and reward special achievements

6 STRUCTURE REFLECTIVE LEARNING SESSION CAMPAIGN APPROACH (OPTIONAL) Teams to discuss what to focus on during upcoming “Observation weeks” VIDEO PART 1 – The Power of Gravity VIDEO PART 3 – A strong Barrier for every situation VIDEO PART 2 – The Importance of Every Step Break 1 (plenary) Break 2 (in groups) Welcome, Safety Brief and Introductions by facilitator Discuss “10 Questions for a Safe Lift” card/poster Remember victims from Lifting & Hoisting fatalities Write down personal action

7 CAMPAIGN OVERVIEW At the end of reflective learning session the team decides what will be investigated in the upcoming action weeks How are preparations done and what happens in practice? Use “Info letters”, SMAT, Inspections, LMRA cards, Field visits findings, Idea box, Photo’s Posters… Reflection in 5 to 10 minutes about the theme. Describe the results of the improvement actions. What did we improve, what could be done more? What did we learn? Celebrate successes & Reward good performance. Give feedback to improve future campaigns. Discuss what was observed past weeks? What do we want to improve in the upcoming action weeks? Solve identified improvement points with staff. Monitor how improvement plan progresses & effectiveness.

8 FACILITATING A REFLECTIVE LEARNING SESSION Preparing for the reflective learning session;  Read the Facilitator Guide  Download all the materials you need for the session  Focus on all Lifting & Hoisting activities (e.g. cranes, forklift trucks, lifting devices in buildings)  Make sure you know the most recent Lifting & Hoisting incidents in your area/business  Ask a Lifting & Hoisting Subject Matter Expert to help you with the preparations During the sessions;  Listen, and don’t talk too much (the answer and knowledge is in the room!)  Be open and curious (ask open questions, who, what, how, when, where, why)  And finally, present the topic with passion!
