2 Microsoft Office for Students Since July, 2014 CSU students can download up to 5 copies MS Office Professional – No direct charge to students – Much better deal, and more convenient than previous student purchase options – Thanks to one-time funding decision made by ASCSU President and UTFAB Chair in July, 2014 $15K ASCSU, $35K UTFAB UTFAB Proposal 10 March, 20162

3 Other Student Options for MS Office MS Office (Home & Student) - $149.99 – Valid to install on only 1 device (computer) – Word, Excel, PPT and OneNote (PC only) – X 5,000 copies => $750,000! MS Office 365 University - $79.99 – Subscription license – 4 years, up to 2 devices – Must be enrolled, and may renew only once – Word, Excel, PPT, OneNote, Publisher & Access UTFAB Proposal 10 March, 20163

4 Office 365 When all faculty/staff “information workers” are licensed for MS Office (via Office 365)… ALL Faculty, Staff & Students may download up to 5 copies of MS Office Professional – Students have an average of 3.7 WiFi enabled devices, including laptop, tablet and smart phone – Many students have desktop computers as well UTFAB Proposal 10 March, 20164
