3 Recrutement and Selection – Guiding Principles  Covers grades G1 to P5  Applies to all ILO officials  Balanced management (gender, nationalities, etc…) and absence of discrimination

4 Recrutement and Selection – Guiding Principles  Requirement of competence and integrity  Career counselling and coaching of officials  Obligation of confidentiality

5 Opening of a competition  The request is made by the chief  HRD assists in defining the job description  Opinion of the Union

6 Technical evaluation  Elaborated by the responsible chief, aided by a technical jury  The chief draws up a short list of candidates  Report forwarded to the Union for comments

7 In the absence of comments by the Union:  recommendation to the Director- General In the event of comments by the Union:  Discussion with the responsible chief followed by  recommendation to the Director- General, split or not Technical evaluation
