8 Mark Scheme A sedentary lifestyle is a persons choice to engage in little, or irregular physical activity. (1 mark maximum) Award one mark for each reason, maximum of 3. Gaining Weight Suffer from Heart disease Suffer from hypertension Suffer from diabetes Suffer from poor sleep Suffer from poor self esteem/confidence Feeling tired and lethargic Potential lack of friends and poor communication skills.

10 Obesity and its affect on physical activity What do you understand by the term Obesity? When would someone be classified as Obese?

11 Obesity A term to describe individuals with a large fat content, where their BMI is over 30. Caused by an imbalance of calories consumed compared to energy used. BMI= body mass index

12 Obesity How to work out your BMI Divide your weight in kilograms(kg) by your height in metres (m) Then divide the answer by your height again to get your BMI. EG 54 divided by 1.64 = 32 32 divided by 1.64 = 20 (ideal BMI )
