3 GCSE Success! In 2016 students in Y11 achieved excellent results: 98% of students 5+ A*-C including English and Maths 60% of all grades were at A/A* 48% of students achieved at least 8 grades A*/A Average point score per entry 51.7 (52 is a grade A)

4 Students have been set challenging targets based on data that we have in school The targets are meant to be challenging and aspirational The targets are based on KS2 scores with 4 levels of progress We firmly believe that our students are capable of achieving more than typical levels of progress. Target week – w/c 10 th October 2016 Targets and Aspirations

5 Key Stage Four Targets What part does the student have to play? Respond positively and work hard to achieve the target Be aware of the fact that competition for places at university and for employment opportunities at 16 and 18 is extremely tough and students need to put themselves in the best possible position to attain the job/place offer that they are striving for What can parents do to help? Support and encourage them to aspire to the highest possible grades Be sure that your child knows what is required to achieve their learning targets. Talk to them!! If your son / daughter is unsure about any aspect of their GCSE course, encourage them to take personal responsibility and find out
