2 Ongoing classes for full and basic AOA members. Adult Training A lower intensity program recommended for seniors. Participants will increase cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength and increase flexibility Chair Exercise Burn calories and tone muscles with this aerobic workout done from a sitting position. Great for beginners. Registration required. Gentle Yoga As the body ages, muscles and joints begin to tighten which causes discomfort and anxiety about one's physical well- being. Learn deep breathing and relaxation techniques that will help you remain healthy and active. Class will be preformed standing as well as on the mat. Stretch and Flex- Learn the correct, safe techniques of stretching to help improve over-all range of motion, increase circulation, and decrease recovery period from injury, reduce stress. Gentle Aerobics A gentle aerobic workout easy to follow and easy on the body. Great for seniors. Tai Chi The ancient art of Tai Chi may be an ideal form of exercise for people to relieve stress. You will feel relaxed after practicing the slow stretching, breathing and gentle movement of Tai Chi. Zumba Gold  Zumba for the active older adults, beginner participant and other special populations who may need modifications for success. Created to emphasize the basics, this explosive program is so easy to follow that students at any age can do it. Session Classes/ Registration Required. Nia- ”Shifting, Body, Mind & Spirit”. Experience a new way to shift your mind, body and spirit using NIA techniques to move your body. Through expressive movement -NIA empowers you to achieve physical, mental and spiritual health and well-being. At the end of the class learn to relax your body using guided meditations. REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Full Members: FREE Basic Members: $ 45 (per session) Does not run in Summer Arthritis Class All movements are part of the Arthritis Foundation’s recommended program and are appropriate for individuals with arthritis. Class includes standing and floor movements that are easy and safe to do. REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Full Members: FREE Basic Members: $ 45 (per session) Staying Strong (formerly Exercise for Parkinson’s) Participate in a wide variety of exercises to enhance strength, flexibility, agility, and stability. Includes weight training, balance and gait exercises, along with gentle aerobics. Recommended for those with Parkinson’s, Muscular Dystrophy, and anyone with limited mobility. Caregivers may be required to attend class for those who need assistance. REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Full Members: FREE Basic Members: $ 45 (per session) Restorative Yoga for AOA Restorative Yoga uses postures to promote a healing effect to renew and restore the body. Balance the body physically and emotionally by practicing standing and spine postures. Renew your body with deep relaxation promoting health to joints, bones and muscles. REGISTRATION REQUIRED.
