3. Servanthood FISH Philosophy A few years ago, a book was written entitled FISH! The book describes four principles that are essential in creating a positive work environment. The four principles are: 1.Choose your attitude. 2.Make others’ day. 3.Be present for others. 4. Make time to “play”, i.e., be sure you have some fun in your life.

4. What it looks like: Living fully engaged lives realizing that you have the power to choose your response to what life and work brings your way. Recognizing that you are responsible for how your choices affect others.

5. What it looks like: Keeping curiosity alive and trust it to lead to better solutions. Finding ways to incorporate play in your daily lives. Approaching your work, responsibilities and challenges with energy and enthusiasm.

Intentional acts of kindness – actions we plan for Example: You know it is someone's birthday and you make an effort to call or do something for that individual during his or her special day. Random acts – actions we take because we are aware and look for opportunities Example: A small child appears to be lost, and you provide assistance.
