2 The Nurses Office is located in the Cafeteria Building Our staff is made up of 2 Registered Nurses who job share and are each here half time. 3 Life Threatening Allergies, Food Allergies or Seasonal Allergies Please contact our office with any information regarding any type of allergy Does your child have an Epi Pen that needs to be on hand in case of an EMERGENCY? Do we need to store allergy medications in our office for your child to use in case they need them during school hours? Please contact our office as soon as possible so that we can be informed about the needs of your child IMPORTANT INFORMATION WE NEED TO KNOW

4 JPS Nursing Clinics have a limited supply of Tylenol, Advil, Tums and cough drops that we administer to students with parental permission denoted on Power School We do NOT stock allergy, cough, anti-diarrheal or anti-nausea medications. If you want your student to have any of these medicines at school, please bring these items to the Nurses Office. Students are NOT allowed to carry medicine at school STUDENTS WHO NEED TO CARRY EPI-PENS, INHALERS OR INSULIN MAY DO SO WITH THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTATION SIGNED BY BOTH A PARENT AND THE PRESCRIBING DOCTOR WHICH IS ON FILE IN THE NURSES CLINIC MEDICINE AT SCHOOL

5 Jenks Public Schools policy requires any student with a temperature of 100.4F or higher must be sent home Students with fever may not return to school until they have been fever free for 24 hours without the use of any fever reducing medications If your child is not feeling well and is running a fever before school please keep them at home to prevent the spread of germs to others FEVERS

6 Your student may be sent home from school for vomiting especially if they present to the Nurses Office with other symptoms including fever If a student vomits because of running, coughing, choking on food or taking medicine that causes stomach upset they may be allowed to rest and then return to class VOMITING

7 Jenks Public Schools is a lice and nit free district If your child has head lice they must be completely free of nits (eggs) and live lice before returning to school The student must be checked through the Nurses Office, accompanied by a parent/adult that will be available to take the student back home in case they need further treatment If nits are found, you will be asked to take your child home and continue to remove all nits and return to the clinic the following morning for a re-check HEAD LICE

8 Please be sure to keep us updated if there are changes: To your childs health or medications Recent injuries such as concussions Changes in telephone numbers Changes in emergency contacts Any other pertinent information that could effect your child’s ability to function at school KEEP US INFORMED
