3. Turn to your Venn Diagram in your writer’s notebook comparing and contrasting Okonkwo and his father. Compose a thesis statement for a paragraph that connects Okonkwo’s character traits to his father’s influence. Find specific details (one or more direct quotations) as textual support. Write an analytical paragraph answering the prompt. Be sure to write the PAGE NUMBER as you do so. After we finish reading, you will work with a partner to create a Double Entry Journal in your Writer’s Notebooks. This will be an ongoing activity so leave several pages for this. You will continue this process while reading the entire novel. You should find as many quotes as possible; be sure to write a personal response or interpretation for each one.
