4 Channel  a means through which a message is transmitted  Face-to-face (two channels, verbal and nonverbal)  Mediated Messages (through technology, written format)

5 Noise & Barriers o Anything that interferes with a message o Internal Noise o hunger, fatigue or mental distractions o External Noise o actual noise or bizarre visuals o Internal Barriers o ignorance, prejudice, defensiveness, competiveness o External Barriers o Semantic Interference, Unclear Speech
