3 Sea Turtles have a lot of predators expect there are only a few that I will name right now. Many predators hunt for turtle eggs. Coyotes, raccoons, foxes, feral pigs, and birds like to eat the eggs. Adult sea turtles have few predators, mostly large sharks. Tiger sharks, in particular, are known for eating sea turtles. Killer whales have been known to prey on leatherback turtles. And when they hatch, the tiny hatchlings may be killed by predators. Flat back turtle nests are easy to find to predation by monitor lizards, dingoes, and some foxes.

4 The life cycle of every sea turtle starts on a beach, which is where females lay eggs. A female must lay her eggs on land, but she will not lay them just anywhere. There is only one place she will lay her eggs-the same beach where she hatched. Her mother and her grandmother also hatched there. Every two to three years, the female sea turtle swims back to this special beach.

5 How does a sea turtle know where it was born? No one knows how it knows. Scientists think that sea turtles may be able to find the right beach by using the positions of the moon and stars to guide them. Sea turtles might also feel the magnetic pull of the earth or smell certain smells that are carried by ocean currents.
