However an SSR uses an electronic component such as a triac or thyristor for switching AC loads and a power transistor for switching DC Loads instead of a coil and contacts like an electromechanical relay. When high frequency On/Off switching capability is required that exceeds the specification of other switching devices When the operating life requirements exceed that of an electro- mechanical switching device When it is necessary to withstand high levels of shock and vibration beyond the specifications of other switching devices When it is necessary to switch a load via a SPST-NO device; at current values of up to 100 Amps Estimated Global Market Size - $300-350 Million for SSRs RA Offers
