1 President: Cindy Drake Florida Association of Code Enforcement 27 th Annual Conference State of the Association

2 MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the Florida Association of Code Enforcement is to promote and advance the practice of code enforcement through education and certification; to further the interests of the profession through advocacy; and to promote networking, fellowship, and understanding among our members.

3 PRIORITY OBJECTIVES Continue efforts to obtain state recognition of F.A.C.E. certification for code officers Create new 8-16 hour course for on-line training for Continuing Education Hours Explore mechanisms for the use of social media (Mobile apps, Twitter, etc.) Explore use of new technologies to enhance F.A.C.E. operations Develop one-day class for in-person training in under-served Explore mechanisms for increased interaction between Board and Chapters

4 ACCOMPLISHMENTS Florida League of Cities Conference Vendors AACE Conference sponsorship and attendance Filled a Board vacancy mid-year Selected the Florida Hotel and Conference Center in Orlando for the 2017 Conference Venue Began the process of forming an ICC partnership Promoted a Before and After Contest Developed and presented a 6 hour continuing education class Obtained buy-in to increase the revenue share with the Institutes of Government

5 RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED that this 4th day of March, 2016, at a regular meeting with a quorum present, a motion was made and seconded to apply for Chapter status in International Code Council, Inc. We, the officers of the Florida Association of Code Enforcement, Inc. certify that the motion passed unanimously. INTERNATIONAL CODE COUNCIL

7 Developed and implemented 6-hour stand-alone Emotional Intelligence class for underserved areas Review and update of Officer Safety and Field Applications course materials Review of Fundamentals of Code Enforcement course materials to ensure l information is current and relevant to our profession Updates to the Educational Module of the F.A.C.E. website making it more user friendly and offering more information than ever before Establishment of a CEP Journal Peer group to review previously written legal issue papers for publication on the website. Secured multiple 2-hour webinar training classes that will be rolled out shortly after the 2016 Conference CERTIFICATION COMMITTEE
