2 Summary of Project Performance ● Donor: Welthungerhilfe ● Implementer: CABI CWA ● Project Duration: Nov-10 to 15-Oct-2011 ● Project area comprised of 13 Union Councils (05 U C of Muzaffargarh Tehsil & 08 U C of Kot Addu Tehsil)

3 Summary of Project Performance ● Project consisted of following components  Distribution of Wheat seed, DAP and Urea fertilizer  Reconstruction of flood damaged watercourses  Rehabilitation of flood damaged tube wells  Training of farmers for good agricultural practices  Kitchen gardening training to female beneficiaries  Vegetable seed distribution  Distribution of fuel for irrigation

4 Summary of Project Performance ● All targets met successfully within time bond ● Due to remaining budget, project period extended for 2.5 months ● Watercourses and tube wells were rehabilitated by contractors through tendering ● Contractors were bound to engage skilled and unskilled labor locally as cash for work

5 Summary of Project Performance ● All the rehabilitated work was checked qualitatively & quantitatively by Field staff and Engineers

7 Achievements: Wheat Seed (50Kg bag) & DAP (50Kg bag) have been distributed among 7000 beneficiaries Urea (50Kg bag) have been distributed among 2500 beneficiaries Reconstruction of 111 flood damaged water courses have been made

8 Achievements: Rehabilitation of 270 no. of flood damaged Tube Wells have been made Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) training to 10,000 no. of farmers have been given

9 Achievements: Achievements for extended period ( 2.5 months) Distribution of vegetable seeds among 2,100 beneficiaries Rehabilitation of 94 no. of flood damaged Tube Wells have been made Kitchen Gardening training has been given to 2,100 beneficiaries

10 Lessons Learned Problems: Poor cooperation of farmers Political influence Shortage of construction material due to enormous development activities in the districts
