3 3 Who is Hypercom? Hypercom is a global provider of electronic payment solutions for consumers, merchants, and acquirers. Multiple locations all over Europe and just increased footprint with acquisition of European competitor TeT. Have you bought something recently at Best Buy or Target? Most devices are skinned, so you would never know it’s manufactured by Hypercom. Primary Customers Retailers (Best Buy, Target) Banks (Bank of America) Hospitals (Europe) Cigarette Vending Machines (Europe) - my personal favorite

4 4 SharePoint Portal Server 2003 –Proof of Concept became production…still evaluating! –Marketing…don’t know about it? (AK) –Training…don’t know how to use it? (AK) –Support…don’t know how to fix it or enhance it? (AK) –Overall Lack of Governance and Process (AK) –US Centric and no support for other languages (AK) –No support for External Party Collaboration Impact of Challenges –SharePoint developed a bad name and is way under utilized. –People found other ways to get things done. –Mass e-mails still used for corporate communication –E-mail used extensively for attachments –Data stored and shared in multiple formats ›Network drives, FTP, Intranet Sites –Difficulty finding information: documents, people, etc. Current Challenges

7 7 Phase 1 – Corporate Intranet –Tailored Training for Administrators and End-users (Intranet/Services Sites) –Initial Release with CEO Sponsorship –Allow for hands on experience with SharePoint before moving onto advanced collaboration features –Support - survey users again and continue to make revisions Phase 2 – Collaboration Space –Migrate existing portal applications –Tailored Training for Administrators and End-users (Collaboration Sites) –Initial Release with PMO Sponsorship –Hands on experience with team sites to understand advanced collaboration features before moving onto managing Extranet Sites. –Support - survey users again and make revisions, define templates, etc. Phase 3 – Extranet –Same process…blah, blah, blah. 13 13 Purpose –Help people in the organization get to know one another. –Help bring users back to the site. Consists of three major components –A custom history list in SharePoint to signify the users who have been displayed and the current user –A custom web part to read information from the users profile and display it to the user –A windows service that updates the history list at a specified interval Daily Employee Spotlight

14 14 Purpose –Provide insight to employees about Hypercom’s new products. This web part allows the user to flip through the new products, it also rotates on a timer as well. Clicking on the image or title will bring the user to the page details about the product. Consists of two major components –Pages List on a product sub site. Pages have been set up with a specific custom page layout. –A web part to render the Product. This web part uses components from the Ajax library to help dynamically update the contents. It reloads the products image and text only instead of refreshing the entire page. Product Spotlight
