1. Year 10 PHYSICAL EDUCATION Assessment Task 1

2. Task CQ Physio is looking to hire a team of sport physiotherapist to assist them at the Queensland Independent Secondary School Netball and Football Carnival. The physiotherapists selected are required to have substantial knowledge in movement and function and be able to prevent, assess and treat various injuries of the lower body. In order to be eligible for a position you must submit a video presentation, which outlines your experience and knowledge in providing care to lower body injuries. Due to the vast range of injuries you must select the ankle, knee or hip and base your video around one of these areas. The hired students videos will be posted on the school website to inform parents and family members about sport injuries.

3. The video must include: A labeled diagram outlining the muscles, ligaments and joints associated with the chosen region. Definitions and terms of the muscles, ligaments and joints associated with the chosen region. 3 common injuries that occur in netball and football related to the chosen region How to prevent these injuries from occurring. (E.G appropriate footwear) How to treat these injuries (Demonstrations are highly advised for this section) A brief recovery plan for each injury outlining time frames, exercises and procedures that could be done to enable the individual to return back to sport soon as possible. (Demonstrations are highly advised for this section)

4. The following conditions exist You will be allocated set times in class through the weeks to be involved in learning the pre-requisite knowledge required to support your informed response. You will have the opportunity to learn how to treat injuries and will practice demonstrations in class (For example strapping) You have dummies and bones (find out what they are called) equipment, Cameras will be provided to film videos. A physiotherapist from CQ Physio will be conducting a session on how to prevent, assess and treat certain injuries.
