3 WHY??

4 Why Change? Electric lighting accounts for as much 20-38% in an average commercial building. Lighting costs can be reduced by 50-75% by selecting lights that use energy more efficiently, and by installing simple lighting controls such as dimmers and occupancy sensors where appropriate. Replacing incandescent bulbs with Light Emitting Diodes (LED’s) are excellent ways to reduce energy consumption.

7 How much light do you need? There are light levels that represent the Illuminating Engineer Society’s (IES) current illumination recommendations. The levels are based on a unit of measure called foot candles (fc) or lux (lx). This rating quantifies how much light is in an area. Individual applications will determine exact foot- candle levels.

8 Photometrics Specific measurements to design the correct lighting recommendations specific to that facility.
