3. What is Dual Language? Dual Language (DL): Integrates native English speaking and English language learning students in the same classroom and provides academic instruction through two languages, one of which is the primary language of each group of students

What does the program look like?  50% of the day’s instruction is in English and 50% is in Vietnamese  Periods of instruction during which only one language is used  Balanced number of English only speaking students and English Learner students in the class  Goals are bilingualism, biliteracy, achievement at or above grade level, and multicultural competence

Registration Process Outside the District: 1.Request an Interdistrict Transfer from the district of residence. 2.Bring the Approved Interdistrict Transfer to WSD district office for approval. 3.Complete and return kindergarten registration packet with original birth certificate and immunization records to WSD office. 4.We will be accepting applications for classes in the 2016-2017 school year: 48 spots in kindergarten and eight spots in first grade.

19. Registration Process Residents of WSD: Students enrolling in the Vietnamese/English Dual Language Immersion Program may submit their materials beginning February 3, 2016.
