2. The chief objective of Rauman Lyseon lukio is to offer the student a wide general knowledge and ability and eligibility for further studies. ”Lukio” is the main route to universities and polytechnics.

3. Why lukio? The student is given enough time to plan his own life. Deciding one´s path in education is one of the most important decisions in life. In the lukio the student is given more time during which he can ponder the choice of a career. Lukio provides a safe and incentive environment for a young adult to grow. In the lukio the student can improve his skills in the languages begun in the basic education and also begin studying a new language, eg Italian French or Russian. Our partner in our Italian project

5. The duration of studies The schoolyear is divided into five periods. During the period the student studies 5 to 7 courses. The studies last 3(4) years over 3 years if the student chooses a lot of extra courses hobbies take up a lot of time

6. How to study? A wide variety of ways to study in Rauman Lyseon lukio studying in a classroom ( teacher directed) independent collecting of information co-operative learning discussions on-line studies

7. Important choices Mathematics Basic or Advanced? Advanced Mathematics useful when studying natural sciences, medicine and economics An extra language good skills in languages is part of a good general education useful in further studies in many fields useful in the workplace

8. Courses The lukio subjects are divided into courses of 38 lessons. The length of a single lesson in Rauman Lyseon lukio is 75 minutes. For the general upper secondary school certificate a minimum of 75 courses is required. Each student chooses his courses himself. Courses are obligatory advanced or applied.. To support the student in Rauman Lyseon lukio Home room teacher ( tutor): each student belongs to an instructional group; the tutor takes care of the students in the group and meets with them once a week. Guidance counsellor: each student has the same guidance cousellor all through the studies in the lukio Subject teachers Study secretary, school secretary Special needs teacher, school social worker, nurse, psychologist We take care of our students!
