There were 4 Assaults reported last week: Beacon St: On Thursday, 7/30, at 1700hrs, Officers noticed two male subjects, aggressively panhandling pedestrians that were walking by Beacon St. Officers approached the two and began to question them. It was determined that one of the subjects had multiple outstanding warrants. Officers began to place the individual under arrest and he resisted and assaulted an officer by pushing the officer to the ground. The subject was eventually restrained and successfully arrested. Elm St: On 7/30 at approximately 0732hrs, officers responded to a call about a disturbance on a back porch. Upon arrival officers spoke to two individuals. The two parties are dating. Officers learned that the two had an argument resulting in of the female subject locking the other out of the house. The male individual broke through a window at which point the female subject began to push and shove the male. The female individual was placed under arrest for Domestic Assault and Battery. The male was also arrested on a warrant. Freeman St: On 7/30 at approximately 1800hrs, a woman stated that she was a victim of an assault by her roommate. The victim and the suspect were having a quarrel about the volume of the television when the roommate dumped out the contents of the victims nightstand all over her while she was in her bed. The victim was granted a restraining order against her roommate by an on call judge. The suspect was charged with Domestic Assault and Battery. Davis Av: On 8/2 at approximately 2311hrs, officers responded to a report of an intoxicated male who arrived home and was being very disruptive and argumentative. Upon arrival officers learned that male subject assaulted his brother, who he has been living with for the past year. The suspect came home intoxicated and jumped onto his brother, who was asleep, and began to strike him in the head with a closed fist. Suspect was charged with Domestic Assault & Battery. Assault

7. There were 6 Burglaries reported last week: Cameron St: On 7/27 at 1340hrs, officers responded to a call of a past B & E. Upon arrival, the owner of the building reported that the residence has three units that are currently being renovated. The owner believes that the suspect broke in via a ladder that leads to the second floor deck. POE is believed to be the window on the second floor deck. There was no sign of forced entry. The owner is not sure what is missing but is certain that many tools were stolen. Winthrop Rd: On 7/28 at approx 1826hrs, officers were dispatched to Winthrop Rd for a B & E. Upon arrival, the victim informed officers that she had $700 stolen from her bedroom top dresser drawer. Victim believes that the suspect entered her apartment sometime between 0830 and 1810hrs. There were no obvious signs of entry or egress. Franklin St: On 7/28 at 2005hrs, victim reported that she just arrived home and found her apartment had been burglarized. Victim brought officers into a front bedroom where they observed a window AC unit on the floor under an open window. It is apparent that this is the point of entry. Each room had been targeted with drawers pulled out, etc. Victim is still assessing property stolen. Beacon St: On 7/28 at approx 2300hrs, officers responded to a report of a past B & E. victim arrived home at 2215hrs and discovered that her rear bedroom window was open. The items from her window sill had been knocked onto her bed, and several drawers in the room were rummaged through. Victims laptop was stolen as well as the case and charger. It appears that the point of entry was victims bedroom window. Entry was gained by utilizing a fire escape that leads to the back alley of the building. Beacon St: On 7/28 at approx 2300hrs, while units were investigating a past B & E, they followed the stairway up to the third floor and found a bedroom window completely ajar. This window is adjacent to the fire escape and would require hanging or climbing to access it. Officers made contact with the building landlord, who allowed officers into the unit in question. The front door was still bolted, indicating that it was not used to enter or exit the apartment. Pleasant St: On 8/2 at 1118hrs, officers responded to a report of a past B & E. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who reports waking up at approximately 1030hrs and finding his apartment in a state of disarray. Victim’s bedroom window as well as his roommate’s bedroom window were both wide open with the screens raised. Victim stated that several electronic devices, and several watches were stolen. The rear of the apartment can only be accessed via a private driveway on Browne Street. It appears that suspect would have travelled down the driveway, forced open the side bedroom window and gained entry into the residence. Burglary

14. Special Attention & Noteworthy Incidents Counterfeiting On 7/28 a report was filed by the Comptroller’s Office of the Town of Brookline. The report states that a subject came in on 7/27 and tried to pass some counterfeit bills. The reporting person, stated that at approximately 956hrs a subject, came in to pay his tax bill. Subject owed over $400 and was trying to pay in cash. Subject handed the reporting person numerous bills in different denominations. The reporting person checked the bills with a counterfeit pen and discovered that four out of the five bills were counterfeit. MV Pursuit On 7/29 at approximately 0215hrs, a motorcycle passed an officer traveling east toward the police station on Washington Street at a high rate of speed. The posted speed limit on Washington Street is 30 MPH. The officer estimated that the motorcycle was traveling at 50+ MPH. The officer activated his emergency lights in an attempt to get the motorcycle to pull over. The owner of the motorcycle, looked back at the officer and increased his speed. He was stopped on Huntington Ave and arrested.
