5. © Cumbernauld College 5 BA Management – History Launched in June 2003 in partnership with Heriot- Watt University Edinburgh Aim - to provide wider access to Higher Education across Scotland and to enhance the qualifications of students with a relevant HND to degree level. 3 pilot colleges –Cumbernauld –Lauder –West Lothian In 2004 another 7 FE colleges joined the scheme

8. © Cumbernauld College 8 Higher National Diploma Normally two years full-time study (4 years part-time study) Equates to 120 ECTS Can be in any business management related area but candidates must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of –Finance, Economics, Marketing, People Management, Statistics, Information Technology and General Management theory

9. © Cumbernauld College 9 Alternative Part – time Route Developed at Cumbernauld Year 1 – Higher National Certificate (HNC) Management –One calendar year (12 months) –Blended teaching model (project based, distance and traditional classroom) Year 2 - Diploma in Management –Traditional academic year (40 weeks) Year 3, 4 - BA Management (Heriot-Watt University) Candidates require 3+ years work experience
