3 Goals: To represent NYU and the USA as ambassadors of goodwill in Haiti. To offer assistance in various fields in order to help the citizens of Haiti rebuild their communities. To provide hands-on learning experience in disaster management, country and community reconstruction.

5 Method: A group of 8 to 30 students will volunteer on the week of 03/14- 03/19. A group of 8 to 30 students will volunteer on the week of 03/14- 03/19. 6 Schedule: Monday 03/14 Depart from JFK Airpot (*everyone in the group on the same flight) Arrive in Port-au-Prince at Mid-day. Meet driver and tour guide. Windshield tour of devastated area around Port-au-Prince as we drive to lodging location near Aquin, 3 hours aways from the capital. Tuesday - Breakfast + “volunteer activities” + lunch + "volunteer acitvities" + dinner Wednesday - Breakfast + “volunteer activities” + lunch + "volunteer acitvities" + dinner Thursday - Breakfast + “volunteer activities” + lunch + "volunteer acitvities" + dinner Friday - Breakfast + “volunteer activities” + lunch + "volunteer acitvities" + dinner Saturday - A.M. - Breakfast + Drive back to P-au-P airport and fly back to Miami/Fort Lauderdale/New York JFK and onward to your final destination

7 Schedule Continued: Tuesday 03/15 – Volunteering day Wednesday 03/16 – Volunteering day and afternoon excursion. Thursday 03/17 - Volunteering day Friday 03/18 - Volunteering day and afternoon excursion. Saturday 03/19 - Drive back to Port-au-Prince airport and fly back to JFK Airport.

8 Logistics: Roundtrip flights. Roundtrip transportation to Aquin from Port-Au-Prince. Lodging in Aquin. Three meals per day. Program -recommended personal packing list for each volunteer Extra equipment and gifts to give to the locals.

9 Funding Needed: The cost of roundtrip flights for each participant is in the range of $350-$400. The cost of the program which is inclusive of all logistics for each participant is $460. The total cost for each participant is $810-$860.

10 If NYU decides to donate to the effort it has no legal responsibility over the program or any accidents that may occur while the students participate in the program.

13 Charlie Lait- Program Journalist Personnel: Student of Journalism at NYU WNYU Radio presenter In charge of producing features article of the volunteering experience in Haiti

14 Albert Lanzillo- Program Documenter Personnel: Student of Film and Television at NYU Experienced in movie production and editing In charge of producing a documentary film for the volunteering experience in Haiti

15 Emma Gagnon- Program Photographer Personnel: Student of Art History at NYU Experienced photographer who has won the LSP photography competition In charge of photographing the volunteering experience in Haiti

19 Our hope is that this volunteering mission will forge bond between the people of Haiti and the NYU ambassadors. Through the article, the film and the pictures that will record our work, other students will have a first hand account of how a volunteering mission is carried out. We believe our work could inspire NYU students to participate in other volunteering programs for communities in need.
