3 Introductions Objective: to introduce yourself to most of the other participants – informally! Search for something you have in common 2 minutes/round At end – introduce yourself and the most interesting fact/coincidence you have noted – 1 minute.

4 ‘Ground Rules’ Objective: to agree a set of guidelines about how we will behave/operate both within the large group and also within the action learning groups.

17 Action Learning Definition: ‘a group of peers, each seeking to bring about some change in the world, who meet regularly to discuss where they are each experiencing difficulty and then testing in action the ideas arising from that discussion’ (Reg Revans) Ground Rules – absolute and total confidentiality Based around a personal project –Something major –Substantive and stretching –Involves action to bring about change
