19 Class Agents 19 possible agents All sign a confidentiality agreement Met with one-on-one Strategic recruitment – No board members or high level committee members – One year “appointments” – Individuals who are connected and have a giving history – As much as possible, they should be representative of the overall parent population

20 Who is a Class Agent at Duke School? A Duke School Annual Fund Class Agent is one who: Enthusiastically supports reaching 100% participation for Duke School's Annual Fund Understands that support at any level fulfills the Annual Fund 100% participation goal and understands that each Duke School family has its own individual capacity to give Will make their own commitment to the Annual Fund Will commit to about 5-10 hours per month from approximately mid-September to mid-January Will send emails (with scripting provided) to other parents in their child’s class that will provide updates on parent participation percentages for the Annual Fund, success stories and a built-in ask for those who have not contributed Will answer questions about supporting the Annual Fund (training information will be provided by the Development Office) Will keep potentially sensitive information confidential, while keeping an open line of communication with the Development Office and Annual Fund Council

21 Annual Fund Structure at Duke School 100 day campaign ending on December 31 Class Agent model - peer-to-peer solicitation Looks very similar to a capital campaign – “silent phase” – launch – push hard – adapt along the way – close hard 4-5 email outreaches from Class Agents Main focus is current parents – Grandparents, Alumni and Former Parents receive more traditional outreach during this period with additional focus in the spring Current parents receive hard copy solicitation from Development Office on Day 1 Additional solicitations to current parents come directly from the Head of School, Director of Development and Director of Annual Fund CYE electronic solicitations from the School
